It has finally been decided, Portia Simpson-Miller has defeated Dr. Peter Phillips in the race for the PNP’s top job. It is a very exciting day for team Portia, because she has now reconfirmed her position as the one to lead the comrades back to government. It is however, a very sad day for Dr. Peter Phillips who suffered his second defeat to the hands of Portia Simpson-Miller.

What does this mean for the PNP?

The jury is still out on that question. According to the president of the PNP, she welcomes anyone who wants to unite and bring the party forward. But will Dr. Peter Phillips put aside the differences he has with  her or will his long political career finally come to an end?
